"triangle help wanted" Introduction.

The area of a triangle is the distance enclosed by its sides. A three-sided polygon is called a triangle.

To find the area of a triangle we need to multiply the base by the height, and then divide by 2. Here we are dividing because we know that a parallelogram can be divided into 2 triangles. You can observe from the given figure below that the area of each triangle is equal to one-half the area of the parallelogram.

As we know that the area of a parallelogram is Area = base x height so, the area of a triangle must be equal to one-half the area of a parallelogram.
Therefore, the area of a triangle = 1/2 x base x height.
